Hi. i have an asus laptop with windows 8. i got it last august and until last week i haven't had any problems with it. last week, my sound stopped working.. Audio not working in windows 8.1. windows 8.1 it pro > windows 8.1 hardware compatibility. i have an asus p8h77-m that is supposed to be windows 8 compatible. it worked fine for almost 1 year untill i upgraded to windows 8.1 and now the sound will no longer work. i have installed all of the latest bios versions and chipset. I bought this asus x202-e laptop last january with pre-installed windows 8 os. but i've noticed that there's something weird with the sound. in a way wherein the sound doesn't come out if i play music or anything with sounds from windows 8 desktop and regular desktop at the same time..
After you upgrade your computer to windows 10, if your asus sound / audio drivers are not working, you can fix the problem by updating the drivers. it is possible that your sound / audio driver is not compatible with the newer version of windows.. Sound not working in windows 8.1.the surround sound channels 5.1 and 7.1 outputs are not working perfectly in windows 8.1. in windows 8.1 pro, when we try to play any audio through the surround sound channels then the 5.1 and 7.1 outputs are not working perfectly..
